MEDICAL SCHOOL RANKINGS
You're curious about the top medical schools within the U.S. Naturally, you Google "top medical schools" or "best medical schools" and you invariably get the U.S. News & World Report data with medical school rankings. You might also find sites listing top medical school rankings based on this very same annual report. At MCATWizard.com, we're all about making your entire Pre-Med experience rich and interactive. So, without further ado, we are totally stoked to introduce you to our Interactive Online Medical School Directory based on your rankings!
By allowing your voices to be heard within our community, MCAT Wizard has independently generated a distinct Top Medical Schools database. This is not to say that you should altogether disregard the U.S. News & World Report. Many individuals consult these annual rankings but, in actuality, the criteria they use to rank the best medical schools may not matter to you. For instance, research activity and the percentage of students entering primary care residencies are two facets of the ranking model; these factors each have a different statistical impact on the overall ranking of a school. So, if you're wanting to do a combined M.D./Ph.D., then research activity matters more to you but if you are pursuing a career in pediatrics, then primary care is more pertinent to your situation. AAMC does not rank medical schools and here is AAMC's critique of U.S. News rankings if you're interested.
